His debut concert came during the spring of 2008 in the town of Gävle, north of Stockholm, when he was 14 years old at a graduation party with a cover band. Shortly thereafter he made his debut in the studio with another band in the summer of 2008 when they recorded a full-lenght album with 31 tracks.
During the fall of 2008 he joined the band Hyperion where he still play the drums to this day. Based in Stockholm, they first recieved a reputation locally in the underground community before they released their first full-length album in 2016 when they became more of an international name in the extreme metal-scene. The band has, as of today, recorded 1 full-length album and gone on 2 european tours among other notable feats.
In 2009 the interest for piano grew and during the summer he decided to purchase a digital piano. He came in contact with prof. Stella Czajkowska the year after, through his drum teacher Daniel Gamba, and she went on to become his private tutor for the following years. Through her guidance, he got accepted to the classical department of the folk college "Birkagårdens Folkhögskola" in 2013 where he deepened his knowledge in classical music but also greatly improved in composition. He would continue his studies under Stella Czajkowska until their last meeting in 2016/2017.
In 2018 Mauritz Flodin decided to fully focus on composition. He began working on the EP "Three Musical Pictures" in January of 2018 and completed the EP in December of 2018. Soon thereafter, he entered Atlantis Studios in Stockholm, Sweden, to record his first debut EP.
